Founder and Executive Director

The founder and Executive Director Edward Kargbo, has exceptional passion to advocate for others in need, and committed to providing a perfect shoulder to carry the poor and needy in the United States and among all ages in the African communities. Mr. Kargbo holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Business Administration from the Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, Ohio, a Masters degree in Legal Studies from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, Arizona State University, and currently pursuing a PhD in Higher Education at Argosy University Washington DC. Besides, Mr. Kargbo holds a Teachers Certificate in elementary education from the Freetown Teachers College, and a Higher Teachers Certificate in Secondary Education from the Milton Margai Teachers College of Education, University of Sierra Leone, West Africa, respectively.
He served as a teacher at the UMC primary school in George Brook, Duwazac Farm, Freetown, UMC primary school, Yonibana, Tonkolili District, and at the Kissy Primary School (KPS), Ferry Junction Freetown. After his graduation from the Milton Margai Teachers College, he went to teach at the Bishop Johnson Memorial High School, Fourah Bay Road, Freetown before proceeding to the Gambia during the rebel war. In the Gambia, Mr. Kargbo taught at the Muslim High School in Banjul, at the Foster High School in Brikama, and at the St. Peters High School in Lamin before proceeding to the United States.
A lot of Africans in the United States are becoming homeless, incarcerated, unemployed, faced serious immigration issues, and lastly doesn’t know where to turn in times of need. It is with this deep concern, love and compassion for these deprived Africans that inspired Mr. Kargbo to start a humanitarian program to help make a difference in their lives. Mr. Kargbo continues to give humanitarian assistant to youths in the area of college admissions and employment, helping to find jobs and positively redirecting failing African youth and refugees to a better focus, at the same time helping the elderly African refugee women secure license for baby sitting thereby making it possible for parent refugees to go to work, helping them get living jobs, and to solve immigration issues.
In the United States, Mr. Kargbo serves as counselor, case manager, corrections officer II, church administrator, Director and have participated in tremendous, children, youth, women and refugee activities. Mr. Kargbo is a native born of the village of Yebaya, Tonko Limba Chiefdom, Kambia District. Son of the late Section Chief Alimamy Kamah and Ya Kankay Kamara (May their souls rest in perfect peace).

Mrs. Keturah Bundu is currently assistant director, as well as currently serving as a board member at the Center. She is a Sierra Leonean who has relentlessly devoted all her time and resources to establish the Child & Family Services International for distressed children and families of Sierra Leone. This corporation is working in close collaboration with the center. She has exhibited tremendous amount of dedication and commitment to alleviate the progress of children and women.
Mrs. Keturah Bundu holds an Associate degree in Psychology from the Northern Virginia Community College, a BS degree in Psychology from George Mason University, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Howard University in Washington DC. She is currently co-director of Social Services Department at Golden Living Nursing Home, Annandale. She is native born of Makeni, Northern Province.

Mr. Conteh is currently a doctoral student at Argosy University, Washington, DC in the Counselor Education and Supervision program. He is also an Adjunct Faculty in the Graduate Program in Counseling Psychology at Holy Family University, Newtown, Pennsylvania. Mr. Conteh received his Master of Science in Community Counseling from the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Linguistics from the Njala University College, University of Sierra Leone. Upon completion of his Bachelors, Mr. Conteh taught at Albert Academy Secondary School, Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Mr. Conteh has 10 combined years of experience in counseling, teaching, research, and supervision. He has done several professional presentations in conferences, National Counselor Exam Workshops, and as an invited guest. Mr. Conteh is currently a co-author of an article (in progress) on Ethics and Internet Counseling for publication in the Journal of Counseling and Human Development. In 2010, Mr. Conteh was honored as Doctoral Student of the Year by the Sigma Phi Sigma Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota of Argosy University, Washington, DC. He is currently the Professional Development Chair of the Sigma Phi Sigma, the Membership Director of the Student Government Association of Argosy University, Washington DC.
Mr. Conteh is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Pennsylvania and Delaware, a National Certified Counselor, and Distance Credentialed Counselor. He is an active member of Sierra Leonean community organizations within Pennsylvania and other states. Mr. Conteh has professional memberships with American Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota, a Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, North Atlantic Region Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, Pennsylvania Counseling Association, Pennsylvania Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values In Counseling. Mr. Conteh was born and raised in the Northern Province town of Makeni, Sierra Leone.
