IMMIGRATION

Many Africans based in the United States and in other western nations are loyally living, working and contributing towards the development of those nations. Some of them migrated with their families as refugees due to wars in Africa, or as asylum seekers or came due to other unfortunate situations, while others have given birth to American citizens. These Africans have productively lived in the United States for several years as hard working nurses, doctors, teachers, counselors, officers to name a few. Some of these Africans could serve as a definite source to build Africa to its fullest if given the opportunity. But are still been denied legal immigration status.

At this moment they are “refusing” to travel to Africa to invest, for fear that they will not be permitted reentry visas. Most importantly, some of these Africans have had children who are still attending in well developed schools, and universities and could not risk removing them  at this important process in their lives, and yet could be impossible to sacrifice all and go to live in Africa.  These Africans are in a state of  “cant solve” dilemma, except the Department of Homeland Security hear their cases and actively involve in making these good people come out of the shadows. This could be a good way of helping towards the development of Africa, by releasing these good and productive Africans and their children, who are determined to contribute their resources for Africa’s development.

Remember, all over the world these Africans spend a bulk of their time and talents helping the elderly, the sick, students, young and old Americans in every aspects of life, as well as contributing towards the social, economic, political, and educational development of the United States. It is because of these so-called forgotten Africans, that TCORAC will actively take part in advocating for immigration reform. These Africans still have families that need to be reunited, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect that they deserve to get.

At this moment, the center will create a situation where immigrants will receive access to important information regarding potential changes in the law that could impact their immigration status, how to join potential immigration advocates, and on information schedule regarding immigration conferences and seminars. TCORAC in its part will mainly provide a low-cost immigration support services in areas such as counseling to individuals who are eligible for immigration benefits, family reunion, citizenship and permanent residence process, removals and replacement of missing documents, advocates for immigrants to acquire legal work permit and more.

Besides, the center will join to educate immigrants on immigration services, help in the preparation of family-based immigration applications and forms to the USCIS, and referrals to attorneys for legal assistance and deportation proceedings. The center will conduct immigration workshops and seminars on immigrant’s rights, qualifications for family-based immigration and citizenship, changes in immigration laws, petitions for victims of domestic violence, and other victims of crime.

Please note that the center currently have affiliations and good relationship with over 30 immigration law firms around Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC, with proven immigration records. Just visit the center’s office at 7263 Maple Place, Annandale, Virginia 22003 or call to schedule an appointment.
