The founder and Executive Director Edward Kargbo, has exceptional passion to advocate for others in need, and committed to providing a perfect shoulder to carry the poor and needy in the United States and in the African communities. Mr. Kargbo holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Business Administration from the Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, Ohio, a Masters degree in Legal Studies from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, Arizona State University, and currently pursuing a PhD in Higher Education at Argosy University Washington DC. Besides, Mr. Kargbo holds a Teachers Certificate in elementary education from the Freetown Teachers College, and a Higher Teachers Certificate in Secondary Education from the Milton Margai Teachers College of Education, University of Sierra Leone, West Africa respectively.
He served as a teacher at the UMC elementary schools in George Brook, Duwazac Farm, Freetown and Yonibana, Tonkolili District, and at the Kissy Primary School (KPS). After his graduation from Milton Margai Teachers College, he taught at the Bishop Johnson Memorial High School, before proceeding to the Gambia during the rebel war. In the Gambia, Mr. Kargbo taught at the Muslim High School in Banjul, at the Foster High School in Brikama, and at the St. Peters High School in Lamin before proceeding to the United States.
A lot of Africans in the United States are becoming homeless, incarcerated and doesn’t know where to turn in times of need. It is with this deep love and compassion for these deprived Africans that inspired me to start this humanitarian program in 2007. Mr. Kargbo continues to give humanitarian assistant to youths in the area of college admissions and employment, helping to find jobs and positively redirecting failing African youth and refugees to a better focus, helping the elderly African refugee women secure license for baby sitting, helping them get living jobs, and helping them solve immigration issues.
In the United States, Mr. Kargbo serves as counselor, case manager, corrections officer II, church administrator, Director and have participated in tremendous, children, youth and refugee activities. Mr. Kargbo is a native born of the village of Yebaya, Tonko Limba Chiefdom, Kambia District. Son of the late Section Chief Alimamy Kamah and Ya Kankay Kamara (May their souls rest in perfect peace).
